Reba (TV show, 2001-2006)

imageLoving the Reba dvd set that my sister and brother-in-law got me! That show is a million laughs! I must admit though, that during its original run on the The WB (now CW), I was afraid to get too into it, bc of Reba’s ubber sentimental music…I don’t like for things to get too mushy. But, this show is great! Definitely a favorite! Is it any wonder that I prefer Reba’s acting to singing?! She’s wonderful!

Well, I’ve seen season 1 and need to catch-up on the rest! For the record though, I seriously doubt that her new series w/ Lily Tomlin will be anywhere near as good. You can’t be as great twice—-Lucille Ball is the perfect example of that—-just watch her series’ that she made after “I Love Lucy”!

True Lies (1994)

image

just saw True Lies (1994) w/ Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I loved it! Yeah, there’s action and violence. But! This movie has enough action to keep people fixated, but not to the point of being too gory. Plus, it had humor and heart to boot! Overall, it makes you believe in the “good guy,” Helen Tasker (Character) “Have you ever killed people?” Harry Tasker (Character) “Yeah, but they were all bad.” = )

Bonnie & Clyde (1967)

Well, I liked Warren Beatty’s good looks and Fay Dunaway’s voice, but that’s about all I liked! No offense to all the movie buffs out there who love Bonnie & Clyde. But, I never, and I mean NEVER! want to see it again! I mean… all that violence—-and blood! And, made in 1967, no less! (*_*)

The Aristocats (1977)

The Aristocats is one of my favorite cartoons! And, interestingly enough, it was the last of the Disney movies to be approved by Walt Disney himself, which makes it even better! Yup, I got good taste! ^_~

The Lucy Show (1962-1968)

The Lucy Show really hits the spot sometimes! I love that episode when she pretends to be Carol Channing!! I think that’s my favorite of all the 150 episodes of the series!

Prefering movies to books...

You are not a lesser person just because you prefer movies to books. It’s a personal preference, like taking showers over baths! And, just because people do less of what they used to does not necessarily make them more irresponsible. It might just mean they have more options!

Lucille Ball (1911 - 1989)

Rita Hayworth may have been known as “the Love Goddess” and Marilyn Monroe may have been the most beloved blond bombshell, but in my opinion (with all due
respect, of course) they all pale in comparison to that lovely red-head, Lucille Ball! To me, she was often the most glamorous woman ever to grace the silver screen, with her porcelain complexion, and sparkling blue eyes, like crystalline ponds of water, reflecting a perfect afternoon sky.

She may always be remembered as “that crazy red-head” but to me, she’s so
much more than that! That’s why i have almost all her 60-some movies on
video, and she was the first movie-star i ever liked——from way back at
the age of 5, i might add! Lucille ball was so much more than the
“First Lady of Television”—— she was “the star!” and my first-ever
favorite! Just see her here, in 1942 “DuBarry Was a Lady” My gosh! How
lovely she was!!
