I’m sorry, but NONE  of these classic characters should change their looks! It’s not so much the fact that she’s bone-thin that bothers me—-after all, Popeye’s Olive Oil was thin, and I have no issue with that, because it was what she was meant to be. She was a classic character with a set identity. And, that’s the point. Style is part of character—-and Minnie is a character loved by many. So, DON’T CHANGE HER STYLE!

And, to anyone who might want to argue that the change is only temporary, I can appreciate that. But, be warned: It’s a slippery slope, so we may as-well make our voices heard now.

People have remarked how much the late British actress, Natasha Richardson (seen here in sills from the 1998 remake of the 1961 Disney classic looks like fellow Brit star, Emma Thompson. And, as you can see from the Emma image below, they are quite right.

 

But, I’d like to take this comparison a step further and say that they both sound almost identical! I was listening to Natasha talk about her favorite sorts of movies on a 1990s AFI WOMEN IN FILM special, chronicling the different types of characters women have traditionally played in movies, and how those representations have changed through the decades, (located here, in-case anyone is interested), and I swear, every-time she uttered a word, I either thought of Jennifer Saunders or Emma Thompson—-and no, it’s not just because they’re British. I mean, I certainly wasn’t thinking of Julie Andrews, Maggie Smith or Emma Bunton!

Both lovely women, with very lovely, very distinct voices! And, I tell you true, the more I see of this Natasha Richardson, the more I like her! The Parent Trap turned me on to her, and now, I am a fan. Too bad I was such a late bloomer in that regard, though… I wish she was still with us.

Once Upon A Time (TV series, 2011- )

The latest episode was fabulous!! I wish this show could last for decades, like Daytime soaps do/did! I mean, it’s a Soap too, the only difference being that it airs in Primetime.

Anyway, this latest storyline involving the Mad Hatter was brilliant! It makes me wonder if ABC has novelists working on the show! I hope we see Alice in Wonderland, at some point. I would love to see my alter-ego on

TV! : - )

And, the best part is, I know that we, the fans, have so much more to look forward to, because the show is produced by ABC, a Disney Co. I don’t think any other network could make a show like this and make it so well—-b/c with ABC being a Disney channel, I’m sure that we can look forward to the 101 Dalmations story being woven in at some pount, as well as non-Disney classics, like The Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit and more! Heck, maybe even Christepher Robin and Winnie the Pooh—-set in the Hundred Acre Wood! Yaaaaaay!! So excited for what may be to come!!

[and as I’ve said elsewhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if Emma Swann turns out to be Mother Goose—-the play-on-words actually works with the story!)

The Disney Channel

It started out as a sort of family channel, airing programing that everyone could relate to and enjoy. Now, it seems just for kids and teenagers—-which is why I feel old now—-at just 26!

Yeah, thanks for selling out, Disney! You don’t even pay respects to your animation anymore, and have closed down your animation schools! Disney himself was probably rolling in his grave over that! The channel has changed so much, I don’t even bother with it now! There’s no reason for it to even bare the Disney name! It should be honest about its transformation and just get renamed. Cause the channel that exists today IS NOT what the disney channel was meant to be!
